These data depict the relative suitability of the industry and operations submodel implemented within the NCCOS suitability analysis for siting wind energy areas within BOEM’s Gulf of Maine Call Area. This layer only covers the BOEM Call Area.
The industry and operations submodel developed for the NCCOS suitability analysis for siting wind energy areas within BOEM’s Gulf of Maine Call Area. This submodel represents the relative suitability of ocean industries and operations across the Call Area, and includes data for NMFS independent fisheries surveys, wrecks and obstructions, NEXRAD stations and impact zones, aids to navigation, AIS vessel traffic, USCG fairways, EPA Mandatory Class 1 Federal Areas, and military special use airspace.

Created by NCCOS for BOEM
A unitless value from 0 to 1 representing the relative suitability score. Scores closer to zero are relatively less suitable for wind energy, and scores closer to one are relatively more suitable for wind energy.
NCCOS
Internal feature number.
Esri
Sequential unique whole numbers that are automatically generated.
Feature geometry.
Esri
Coordinates defining the features.
A unitless value from 0 to 1 representing the relative suitability score. Scores closer to zero are relatively less suitable for wind energy, and scores closer to one are relatively more suitable for wind energy.
NCCOS
Length of feature in internal units.
Esri
Positive real numbers that are automatically generated.
Area of feature in internal units squared.
